What do Buddhists believe in? This question is not easy to answer. Before answering it, I need to introduce the classification of Buddhists, because different types of Buddhists believe differently.
According to the beliefs of Buddhists, they can be divided into three categories:
The first type is not believing in Buddha
These types of people only claim to be Buddhists, but in reality, they only use Buddhism as a stepping stone to seek their own benefits. These people do not believe in Buddha at all, and if necessary, they can slander and insult him.
The second type believes that Buddha is a god
This type of person believes that Buddha is a god who can save them from dire straits, make them rich, have power, and lead happier lives. These people believe that Buddha can bring them anything they want. They are very respectful to Buddha, just like they are to gods, and will never allow anyone to slander or insult Buddha in front of them.
The third type is to believe in the truth of Buddha
This type of person does not care about the Buddha himself, and they do not regard him as a god. They believe in the truth of Buddha . They will do things according to the truth of Buddha and practice these truths in their lives. Their respect for Buddha is out of gratitude, thanking Buddha for bringing them such truth.
The above are the beliefs of three types of Buddhists, and I, Shengzhong, belong to the third type of Buddhist.
